Text Box: The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.
Michelangelo
If you want to get better faster, there’s nothing like setting specific goals. They give motivation, they provide a benchmark, they offer clear direction.

Most of us set goals, but often they are not specific. “I want to do well” is not enough to help you focus on what you need to do. So while setting goals sounds simple, you have to be specific and you have to be systematic.

In this section, we cover the following 6 steps to setting effective goals:

·         Big picture – what do you want out of your soccer?

·         Self-evaluation – what are your strengths and weaknesses?

·         Specific goals: what do you need to work on to get where you want to go

·         An Action Plan for You

·         Kicking it!

·         Review and reset: checking on progress
